A Prophetic Word given in 1998

This prophetic word or word of knowledge (or whatever we would like to call it) was given to us in 1998, and it was given under God’s direction to start ChristianFilmmaker.com

Through the years we’ve seen many of the prophecies to Christian Film Makers come to pass, the Lord is faithful. This article is been published just as it was published on ChristianFilmmaker.com in 1998.

On May 31, 1998, the Lord placed in my heart something concerning the film industry and His people. It is my wish to share with you my convictions, hoping they will motivate the minds and hearts of Christian filmmakers all over the world.

As we all know, nothing gets to so many families at the same time, in every piece of land on earth, like Film & Television (when this article was written, the Internet was in it’s infancy, video on the Web was a far a way dream at the time). We as Christian filmmakers have been chosen to fight the battlefields of earth, invading homes and movie theaters with the Gospel of Christ in as many ways as we can, against spiritual forces not seen, as the apostle Paul describes it in Eph 6:12

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

The Lord has convinced me that we are to take back every single part that belongs to Him still ruled by Satan. And that definitely includes the art of film and video making, which are the two most powerful tools God has given men to teach and reach the world with His word.

As we all know, Jesus Christ was a powerful story teller, He revealed the Kingdom of God through the Parables He told. In those days, He did it by foot and only one town at a time. We as Christian filmmakers are called to do what Jesus did only that we have been given the tools to do it in a bigger and greater scale.

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. You will do bigger and greater things than I do!”
When the Lord filled my heart with this conviction, He gave me several messages that go with it; things that every Christian filmmaker should know.
Everything mankind has come up with throughout history has been ordained and allowed by God exclusively for His glory, although men, acting inside their spiritual darkness, have tried to deny His existence (Rom. 1:18-23). Motion Picture Film belongs to our Father in Heaven: He blessed men giving them the skills and intelligence to develop it, and it is time for us to fight back and use it for its unique and real purpose, which is the Glory of God. Unfortunately, as we all know, the media, the Hollywood system, and all its outlets is turning what could have been the greatest blessing into the worst of curses. It is simply destroying the minds of many, rushing millions of souls to hell
Our Lord Jesus Christ told stories to show us matters of everyday life. Either His own words, or the great teachings of the Old Testament, or the vital lessons of the Christian life, it is all the supreme clay for us Christian filmmakers to make the films the world should see. The greatest films are yet to be made.

Once I wondered if any other filmmaker in the past had ever had the same burning desire in his/her heart to Glorify the Lord through the art of film making and the Lord brought to my mind Mr. Cecil B. DeMille, (Mr. DeMille has been credited as the man who invented Hollywood and he was the Steven Spielberg of the 1920′s – 50′s)  Mr. DeMille was not a perfect man, yet the Lord fulfilled his dreams much further than he ever expected. He produced 85 films in his life time, but he is mostly known as the director of The Ten Commandments (1956), but interesting enough, very few people know that God had already been dealing with Mr. DeMille as early as the 1920′s when the Lord placed in his heart the desire to make the first version of The Ten Commandments (1923) a black & white/silent film.. and so much was his desire to please the Lord that in 1927 he made one of the first films about Jesus Christ The King of Kings (1927) also a black & white/silent film. So we can only imagine, how great must have been Mr. DeMill’s burning desire and passion to please God, that in 1956, he did a re-make of “The Ten Commandments (1956)” with Charlton Heston, this time in full Color and Sound. The film became an instant success.

When the Lord reminded me of this fact, I was excited to be a Christian filmmaker and it opened up a whole new entire vision, about promises found in His Word. The fact that we have living proof today without a shadow of a doubt that Mr. Cecil B. DeMille had some kind of divine motivation from God is unquestionable. His work in “The Ten Commandments” and “The King of Kings” attests to that fact. These two films are among the most successful epics ever made.

The success of Mr. DeMille proves that the Word of God is true. Mr. DeMille was a rich man, a successful man, and a man who later died at a ripe old age, everything as the Lord has promised in His Word about a man that pleases God with His hands. Mr. DeMille was a film maker not a preacher, yet his films today are preaching louder than words, and with images shot in the 1920’s and 1950’s, his two epic films are still preaching to new generations.

The Lord has revealed to me and thousands of others that we are living in the last days;

Acts 2:17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh’.

There is a time soon to come where people will have a hunger for the things of God like never before seen since the beginning of the world. This is already starting to take place. The search has begun and people are searching for the truth (this article was written three (3) years before the 911 attacks in the US), but many are finding false prophets, lies, and deceptions from all media outlets. But God is about to change all that, and He plans to use those who are willing to walk the talk. Christian Warriors who will help produce films by faith! God is saying, You can do it… you are only limited by the size of your faith. How big is your faith? The number one reason why most Christian film makers don’t make films is because they don’t have the Money. Yet money should never be an obstacle. (Again, this article was written in 1998) Why? Here is what The Lord showed us… and is about to show you:

When Jesus went out looking for disciples He told them: Mat 4:19 “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” And the Bible says: Mat 4:20 “They immediately left their nets and followed Him.” Notice how the disciples never asked questions… they never asked “How much money it will cost me?, or how much money do I need? No. God’s Word says that they “immediately left their nets and followed Him.” Money was never and issue. Now, that’s not all! Notice the instructions that Jesus gave his twelve disciples before He sent them out into the world:

Mat 10:9 “Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,
Mat 10:10 “nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.

…and the rest is History! What Jesus was saying when He sent out the twelve apostles was this… “Go and walk by faith!”, That’s what Jesus was saying. Money should never be an issue when it comes to doing God’s ministry. And when you are making films for Jesus, YOU ARE DOING HIS MINISTRY. You HAVE BECOME AN APOSTLE of Jesus Christ. So, Go ye into the world, and make films by faith. Sure, we know that it costs thousands and even millions to make such films. But God already knows that, and He has promised us that “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”(Phil 4:19) He is telling us that “You are the salt and the light of the world, so go and walk by faith… and as you walk…. every step will be a miracle.” Why? Because He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”(Heb 13:5)

God’s message for today’s Christian film, TV &Vide producers is to wake up and get ready because He’s about to pour His Spirit upon all flesh, and when these things happen movie goers are going to fill the theaters all over the world, looking for the truth, the Light, and the Spirit of God, and they need to find it!

(This is what the Lord told us in 1998 when only a hand full of Christians were making small -low budget Christian movies on 16mm films for the VHS Church market.  This is why today, God is raising Christian’s in the film and TV production industry for His purpose and Goal. These things are already happening by 2010, and it all started with the success of The Passion of the Christ (2004). We now believe that as more Christian filmmakers join the indie movie making industry, take on Hollywood and produce more successful Christian films, eventually the Lord will turn things around to our favor… it’s just a matter of time. And this has nothing to do with what we do, but what God is about to do in these last days. We believe the Word of the Lord is true and Mighty, and the Lord has already promised, that “in the last days, men will have fear and tremble because

of the Judgment of God upon the earth.” We all witnessed a bit of these fear the Lord talks about on Sept. 11.)
Daniel 6:26
I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

Revelation 15:4
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

And guess what, as we continue to get closer to these Last Days… Hollywood will be so far off the page, that “anointed” Christian filmmakers will be hired on the spot to fill the void. (This has already began to happen in 2009. Some top Hollywood Studios have already made contracts with Christian filmmakers and producers, exactly eleven years after the Lord’s prophecy to Christian film makers everywhere.  The Lord is faithful.)

(The Lord has showed us that the success of the movie “Titanic” or Avatar) is nothing compared to what’s going to happen in the last days. Don’t forget that God himself has promised the increase in His Word.)

Acts 2:17

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh’.

I believe the Lord is saying to make films with the Holy Spirit in mind, and to do what Jesus did; He told simple stories like the prodigal son, the reaper, the lost coin, the ten talents, etc.   Films that go with the times of this age of course.  And every story had a revelation Kingdom message behind it. Seek God with all your mind, heart, and soul, and He will reveal His plan to you too.

If you don’t have a script today, write one or find one. If you don’t have a film crew, actors, etc…find them, if you don’t have money…don’t worry because as Jesus Christ has instruct us, you don’t need it at this time. Start working on your dream, then…as you organize it, as you begin to walk by faith with constant prayer and reading His word. Then God will help you… and the dream will soon become a reality! I did it, and so can you!
